Carolyn Louise Parkinson Akey

West Columbia – Carolyn Louise Parkinson Akey entered into rest, Friday, May 12, 2017.

Carolyn was the mother of Kierste Pearce Whiddon; mother-in-law of Chuck Whiddon; and the grandmother of Ian David Pearce, William Robert Charles Pearce Whiddon and Sophie Elizabeth Pearce Whiddon.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Darwin and Sophie Wilkins Parkinson.  She was the sister of the late George David Parkinson. 

Carolyn was a veteran of the US Navy. 

A Memorial Service, with Military honors, will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 10 am in Salley Baptist Church.  Burial will be at the Salley Oakview Cemetery.
