Carolyn Cooper Dodson

Wagener - Mrs. Carolyn Cooper Dodson, 76, passed away to her new life on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at her home in Wagener, SC. 

Mrs. Dodson was known to many young and old as MeMa Carolyn.  Through a life of Christian Ministry she touched the lives of many as she served her community as a Christian and as chief supporter to her husband as they pastored the churches entrusted to their care through nearly forty years of Christian Ministry.  She also worked outside the home at Wagener Manufacturing Company, C.E. Tyler’s Red and White, Busbee Elementary School, Wagener, SC,   Barnwell County Counsel, Barnwell, SC, Ducane Corp., Blackville, SC; and Christ Central Ministries, Wagener, SC.  Her passion and favorite hobby was working in her flower garden and yards around her Wagener home.  She was also a member of the Wagener Garden Club

She is survived by her loving husband, of nearly sixty years, Leroy Dodson. Three children: Andreina G. (David) Angle, Bryan L. (Sarah) Dodson, Wagener, SC; and Kenneth E. (Lynn) Dodson, Barnwell, SC.  One sister, Martha C. (Watson) Kyzer, Murpeesboro, TN, Two brothers, Gene (Fran) Cooper, West Columbia, SC, and special brother Mike (Sharlene) Cooper, Lexington, SC.  Sister In Laws Mae Cooper, Wagener, SC , and Ruby Cooper, Batesburg, SC.  Six grand children and 18 great grand children.  She was predeceased in death by her parents Felder and Rosa Cooper, six brothers: Arnold, Phillip, Gerald, Wyman, Bill, and Hugh Cooper.

Services will be Monday at the First Baptist Church, Wagener, SC at 3 p.m. with visitation following.  Committal service will be private.
