Welcome to the memorial page for

Cindy Lea (Porter) Menner

August 8, 1956 ~ March 15, 2017 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Cindy was the wife of William “Bill” A. Menner; the mother of Danielle (fiancé Daniel Fischer),  Glen Roberts, Melinda (Randy) Leasman, and Ryan Menner; grandmother of Joshua and Timothy Broschinsky and Alita Leasman; and sister of Gary R. (Shawn) Porter, Jr.. She was the daughter of the late Gary Richard Porter, Sr. and Francis Gail Smith Porter.

Cindy was always smiling, caring for and encouraging everyone she came in contact with. People that knew her loved her and were blessed to have her as a friend. She lived her life with the gift of hospitality and Godly council. Her true talents were many although she would never admit them. A true humble spirit she was always giving the most precious gift- time. A shoulder to cry on or a listening ear, Mom loved to hear people's stories. She even started showcasing special stories and people in her writing. She gave her life to people. She once worked as a telephone counselor for Crisis Pregnancy Center and housed girls in need of a place to stay. Our house was always full of people, laughter and excellent food. Cindy blessed people with her cooking and baking talents. She is famous for her banana bread and homemade pies and to some... even something as simple as a bean burrito was special if Mom made it. She also loved sewing and quilting. In everything she did she did it to perfection and with love. For my (Melinda) birthday Mom would make me a homemade, double-layer, German chocolate cake in a heart shaped pan. One year the cake split (a tiny bit) in the oven... she patched it with icing and made me a whole new one. That year I had two cakes. This is one example of how my Mom was. Everything was done with love and with perfection. We used to joke that there was never a dull moment in our lives. She made every day a celebration, every day was fun and no holds were barred. The legacy Mom left the world was that of love, grace, hard work and beauty.

A service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held at 5 pm Saturday at Calvary Chapel, 1755 12th Street Extension, Cayce, SC 29033. A time of fellowship will be held following the service.
