Heyward F Clamp, JrJune 24, 1943 ~ August 28, 2017 (age 74)
Edisto Island, SC- Mr. Heyward Felton Clamp, Jr., 74, entered into rest, Monday, August 28, 2017.
Heyward was the husband of the late Sharon Clamp, the stepfather of Sharon and Alan Langley, and the brother of Teddy (Ted) Long Clamp. He was the son of the late Heyward Felton Clamp, Sr. and Esther Flora Long Clamp.
Heyward was born in Long Beach California. He served in the National Guard. He was a carpenter and an author. Heyward and his brother Ted are co-owners of the Edisto Island Serpentarium, which opened July of 1999. This endeavor was a culmination of more than 50 years of snake hunting adventures the two brothers had together, along with many of their close friends.
There has been a memorial fund set up for Heyward F. Clamp, Jr. at the Enterprise Bank in his memory. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Edisto Island Serpentarium, 1374 Hwy 174, Edisto Island SC 29438.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 am on Saturday September 30, 2017 at Edisto Beach Baptist Church followed by a time of greetings in the fellowship hall.
