Mary Irma (McRacken) Chandler

Wagener – Mrs. Mary Irma McRacken Chandler, 67, rode off into the sunset Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

Mary is the wife of James “Jimmy” E. Chandler. They were married for twenty-seven years. Mary is the bonus mom to Shawn Chandler of Darlington and Bain (Jennifer) Chandler of Florence. Mary is the grandmother of five and great grandmother of two. She is the sister of Cecil (Carol) McRacken of Newberry, and the Aunt of Darleen McRacken of White Pond. Mary is the daughter of the late Vernon Wallace McRacken and the late Constance Virginia Hinson McRacken. Mary will be remembered as a happy, loving, kind, generous, creative lady and a lover of animals. Her strength was an inspiration and example for all.

Mary was born in Columbia and graduated Columbia High School. She studied Fine Art at the University of South Carolina. Mary is of the Presbyterian faith. She retired from BellSouth Telephone in Columbia.

A gathering to Celebrate the Life of Mary is planned for 12 noon Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at T & S Farm, 3500 Pond Branch Road, Batesburg-Leesville, S. C.  29006.
