Sallie Jackson Yon

Salley- Mrs. Sallie Virgie Bodie Jackson Yon, 85, entered into rest, Friday, March 3, 2017. 

Mrs. Yon was the wife of the late Legare Jackson and the late Brodus Yon.  She was the mother of the late Robbie Legare Jackson and step mother of Brenda Wooten, Jack (Alice) Yon, Ronald Yon, Jimmy (Leila Mae) Yon, Gail Shiffner the late Kathy Pou, the late Bo Yon, Jr., and the late Skip Yon.  She was the daughter of the late Robert L and Dorothy D. Brown Bodie. She had many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She was the aunt of Norma Jean Northcutt, Judy Bodie, Maxine (Butch) Hornsby, Dottie (Billy) Hames and William E. “Jimbo” Jackson, Jr. Special nieces and nephew were: Glen Tindall, Whitney Tindall, Abby Tindall and Lenward Ross "Pete" Jackson.  She was a sister to the late Norman L. Bodie, Helen, B. Adams and Lydia B. Jackson. 

Mrs. Yon was a member of Berlin Baptist Church.  She retired from Wagener Manufacturing. She enjoyed being a part of the sunday school class and going on trips.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 3 pm Sunday at Berlin Baptist Church with Rev. George Koon officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
