Sandra T. (Sharpe) Dugan

Lexington – Sandra T. Sharpe Dugan, 68, died peacefully at her home after a brief battle with cancer. She went home to Jesus in the twinkling of an eye, reached her destination in the sky. Sandra was born November 21, 1948 to Johnnie T. Trout Sr. and the late Mary Rabon Thomas.

Sandra affectionately known as “Nanny” loved God, her family/friends and her church (Lexington Church of God) with “all of her heart, soul and every heartbeat”. She will be fondly remembered for her warm hugs, her smile and her willingness to listen.

Sandra is survived by her father, Johnnie T. Trout Sr.; brother, John T. Trout Jr.; sister, Tammy T. Hall, husband of 37 years, Jackie R. Dugan; children, Beth (Greg) Garvy, John (Shannon) Sharpe, Carl (Tammy Dixon) Sharpe; step-daughter, Rachel Sawyer; her beloved grandchildren, Gregg (Sarah Reasons) Garvy, Nikki (Justin) Jernigan, Jonathon (Muriel) Sharpe, Brittany (Steven Nixon) Sharpe, Danielle (Adam Carver) Garvy, Brook Sharpe, McKenzie Sharpe, Grant Sawyer, and Miranda Sawyer; great grandchildren, Aeris Carver and Jameson Jernigan. God also blessed her with a special child, Faith M. Stone. She also leaves behind her ferocious yapper, Precious. She is predeceased by the father of her children, Edison Sharpe and sister, Kathy T. Bryant.

Her homegoing service will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Lexington Church of God (1331 Nazareth Rd). Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
