Jeanette (Light) Lucas

Mrs. Jeanette Light Lucas, 88, entered into rest on Saturday, February 17, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Left to cherish Jeanette’s memory are her daughters, Gail Inabinet and her husband Harold, Jan Green and her husband Kelly, and Tina Brown and her husband Bobby; grandchildren, Amanda Lee, Kale Green and his wife Brooke, Dale Green and his wife Shelby, Jacob Brown and his fiancé Leah, and Kaitlyn Brown; great grandchildren, Will Green, Brycen Lee, Owen Green, Sullivan Green, and baby-girl Green on the way; step grandchildren, Nay Inabinet, and Hal Inabinet; brothers, Henry “Snooder” C. Light, Jr. and his wife Debra, Delane Light and his wife Sara; sisters, Joanne Goodwin, and Alma Fogle and her husband Harry; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jeanette was born on March 16, 1935 to the late Henry Cleo “Bunk” Light, Sr. and the late Geneva Gunter Light. She is also preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Franklin Lucas, who was the love of her life.

Mrs. Jeanette was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending the Senior Adult Sunday School Class with her friends. Mrs. Jeanette enjoyed traveling and camping, she especially loved going to the mountains. Her whole world revolved around her family. She loved spending time with them and making memories that her family will forever cherish. Mrs. Jeanette was the definition of a homemaker, she took pleasure in cooking, sewing, and quilting with her mother.

The Lucas family wishes to express their appreciation to Kim Rexrode with Heart of Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Jeanette. Also, a special thanks to Henry “Snooder” and Debra Light for the time and love shown to Mrs. Jeanette.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church 1845 Cedar Creek Road Pelion, SC 29123.

Visitation will be from 2-3 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will follow at 3 pm also in the church sanctuary. Mrs. Jeanette will be laid to rest beside her late husband in Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery following the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be Kale Green, Dale Green, Jacob Brown, Will Green, Brycen Lee, Owen Green, and Andy Jackson.
