Jimmy Hayes

Pelion - Mr. Jimmy Hayes, 83, entered into the Pearly Gates of Heaven on Sunday, April 21, 2019.

Mr. Jimmy is the husband of Janet Compton Hayes. They have been married for 56 years. He is the father of Jimmy Allen Hayes, James G. (Sabra Jane) Hayes, Jennifer L. (Bobby) Ennis, and Joi Hayes. Mr. Jimmy is the grandfather of Charlie (Daniel) Caughlin, Susan Hayes, Sarah Hayes, Landon Hayes, Abby Haselden, Tyler Haselden, Kent French, Denny French, Joi West, Zachary French, Brittany (Zack) Truel, Blake Witten, Stone McKinney, Mason McKinney, Elisa McKinney, and Emily McKinney. He has 24 great grandchildren. His siblings are John Hayes, Ruby Boggs, Eugene, and the late Charlie Hayes, Pauline Yates, and Pearl Stout

Mr. Jimmy was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served in the Korean War. He was an accomplished guitar player and singer. Blue Grass and Country Western styles.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 25th, 2019 from 12 to 1:45 p.m. in Wayside Baptist Tabernacle, Pelion. The Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm also in the church sanctuary. Pastor Grover “Buckshot” Williams will be ministering to the family. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
