Mildred (Hoover) Smith

Pelion – Mrs. Mildred “Tootsie” Hoover Smith, 81, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 14, 2019.

Mrs. Mildred is the mother of Rhett Drew Smith and the late Clifton Ward Smith, grandmother of Jonathan Lowell (Angela) Smith, Alisha Ryan Smith, and Adam Drew (Danielle) Smith; and great grandmother of Brice Lowell Smith, Baby Boy on the way, Miller Drew Smith, and Nora Mae Smith. She is the sister of Ruby H. Craft, Clinton Hoover, and the late Wallace Lucas, Jimmie Lee Lucas, Hubert F. Hoover, Jr., Miriam Smith, Olin Lindwo Hoover, and Beatrice Hoover. Mrs. Mildred was married to the love of her life, the late Lowell Roston Smith.                          

Mrs. Mildred was a veteran of the Women in the Air Force and a seamstress at Capital City Sewing prior to retiring from Allied Chemical after 27 years of service. She loved working in her yard, faithfully watching Judge Judy and Jeopardy, and spending time with her grands and great grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be held at 10 am Saturday at Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery.  Visitation immediately following the service at the Pelion Senior Citizen Center, 210 Fort St., Pelion, SC.
