Wagener – Mr. William Robert “Greek” Traynham, 86, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 3, 2018.
Mr. Traynham is the father of Michael (Ana Lali) Traynham of Uraguay, Wayne Traynham of Murrells Inlet, Bunny (Larry) Edwards of Valley, AL, Wanda C. Yon, Janet C. (Dennis) Jackson, and Phyllis (William) Gantt all of Wagener. He is the grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 11. Mr. Traynham is the brother of Edna Watt of Jacksonville, NC and 4 siblings who preceded him in death. He is the son of the late Lawrence William and Edna Louise Young Traynham. Mr. Traynham is the widow of Mildred Crowley Traynham. His special friend of the last few years is Diane G. Heyward of Wagener.
Mr. Traynham was born in Ware Shoals. He was a member of Bethcar Baptist Church. Mr. Traynham was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was also a Shriner.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Blizzard Funeral Home, 153 Main St. South, and other times at the home of Phyllis Gantt at 20 Rodeo Loop, Wagener, SC. A Memorial Service will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Bethcar Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Addy officiating. The U. S. Navy will provide military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Bethcar Baptist Church at P.O. Box 546, Wagener, SC 29164.
The family expresses thanks to the staff of Pepper Hill Nursing and Rehab Center for the care provided Mr. Traynham and the family.
