Alexandra Ivanovna (Gorelova) Chaynikova

Augusta, GA - Alexandra Ivanovna Gorelova Chaynikova, 87, entered into rest Monday, November 27, 2023. Born on May 23, 1936 in Russia to the late Ivan Nikolayevich Gorelov and the late Fedosia Pavlovna Gorelova.  Alexandra lived through WWII and endured a lot of hardships but kept her Christian faith as did her parents and ancestors.  Alexandra was married to the late Ivan Kirillovich Chaynikov.  They had two children, a daughter Elena Ivanovna Chaynikova Lee and a son the late Yuri Ivanovich Chaynikov.   Alexandra worked for over 40 years at ZIL Automaker in Moscow where she received many professional awards.  After retiring, she dedicated most of her time to church.  She loved gardening and she enjoyed sharing the vegetables and fruit she grew with others, even with strangers who were in need.  Stoic and never complaining, Alexandra had a big and compassionate heart, wanted little for herself, and most of her life served others.  Memory eternal.

A Panikhida Prayer Service and Visitation will begin at 6 pm Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Mission, 1658 Ascauga Lake Rd, North Augusta, SC 29841.

The Funeral service will be Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Saints Mary and Martha Monastery, 51 Spinner Lane Wagener, SC.  Burial will follow service in the Monastery cemetery.
