Ms. Mary Rebecca “Becky” Woodbury Spires, 95, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Ms. Becky was born on April 28, 1930, in Conway, South Carolina to the late Robert Reece Woodbury and the late Elizabeth Geneva Hucks Woodbury.
Left to cherish Ms. Becky’s memories are her daughter, Mary Katherine Richardson Edman, her son, Ray Spires, her grandchildren, Linda Ford and Brandon Gates, her great grandchildren, Serenety Ford and Caleb Ford, her sister, Brittie Lee Hucks, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ms. Becky is the widow of Henry Richardson and she is also the widow of Jethro Spires. She is also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Howard Edman, grandson-in-law, Richard Ford, and her siblings: Robert Leo Woodbury, James Lester Woodbury, Esther Woodbury Cooper, Archie C. Woodbury, Virginia Woodbury Bailey, and Benjamin G. Woodbury.
Ms. Becky was a lover of the outdoors, spending much of her time in nature. You could often find her tending to her garden and her flowers. She enjoyed growing, nurturing, and watching her hard work turn into something beautiful. Ms. Becky was a member of King Grove Baptist Church.
Memorials in honor of Ms. Becky may be made to King Grove Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 10-11 am on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at King Grove Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be 11 am also in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Old Neck Cemetery in Gresham, South Carolina.
