Betty Sue Rhines Betts, 79, entered into rest on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Emerson “Hawk” Harrington Betts, Jr., children: Larry Johnson and his wife Kristina, Kevin Johnson, Barbara Morgan and her husband Brett, William Robert Betts and his wife Sheila, and Nicole Betts, many grandchildren, and siblings, Garry Rhines and his wife Donna, and Glenda Rhines.
Betty was born in Norton, Virginia on August 31, 1946, to the late William “W.C.” Claude Rhines and the late Beulah Turner Rhines. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Bernice (Stan) Williams and Jerry (Nancy) Rhines.
Betty attended Wayside Baptist Tabernacle and Dolorosa Worship Center. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the senior center, her favorite game was Phase 10. Betty loved going to the Smoky Mountains with her husband. They both enjoyed spending time together looking at God’s beauty.
Visitation will be 2-3 pm on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Wayside Baptist Tabernacle. Funeral Service will be at 3 pm also in the church sanctuary. Pastor Grover "Buckshot" Williams will be officiating. Mrs. Betty will be laid to rest at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
