Mrs. Betty Earle Hallman Miller, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Left to cherish Mrs. Betty’s memories are her loving husband of 70 years, Toby O’Field Miller, Sr., daughter, Vicky (Mack, II) Goodwin, son, John (Patrick) Miller, grandchildren: Victoria “Tori” (Jason) Mosteller, Dominikka “Nikki” (William) Harbert, William O’Field (Angela) White, Don (Tracey) Miller, Christopher “Chris” (Tasha) Miller, Samuel Miller, Kyle Miller, Alisha (Trey) Whitten, Mack (Erin) Goodwin, III, Melissa Goodwin, and Melanie Churchill, great grandchildren: Ronald “Cody” (Taylor) Roebuck, Madison “Gracie” Mosteller, Bethany Harbert, Annabeth White, Toby James (Kaylee) Miller, Ted Miller, Tiffanty Miller, Ethan Miller, Jace Miller, Peyton Whitten, Colton Whitten, Caleb Churchill, McKinley Goodwin, and Marleigh Goodwin, great great grandson, Grant Roebuck, and brother, Earl “Buddy” (Janice) Hallman, Jr.
Mrs. Betty was born on October 19, 1936, to the late Earl Emmett Hallman, Sr. and the late Jeanette O’Nita “Nita” Adams Hallman. She is also preceded in death by her son, Toby O. Miller, Jr., grandson, David Goodwin, and sister Mary H. Ussery.
Mrs. Betty and Mr. Toby fell in love with each other in the first grade because of him pulling on her pigtails. Mrs. Betty was Valedictorian of Salley High School, Class of 1954. She attended Winthrop College on a full scholarship until the love of her life finally convinced her to say yes to becoming Mrs. Miller, they were married on November 7, 1954. She was a collector of Barbie dolls, beanie babies, and porcelain dolls. Mrs. Betty enjoyed spending time in her garden planting vegetables and flowers. An avid Prayer Warrior, Mrs. Betty covered her family and her community in prayers. She loved Jesus, her family, her church, and praise and worship. She was the matriarch of her family and leaves behind a legacy of love and faith.
Visitation will be 10-11 am on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Miller Family will honor Mrs. Betty’s life with a private service.
