Carl Ayer

Neeses – Mr. Carl Ayer, 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2020.

Carl is the loving husband of Hilda Yvonne Reid Ayer. They have been married for 58 years. Pop’s four-legged baby is LuLu. She was his constant companion. He is the father of Tim Ayer and his wife Deborah and Vonda Ayer Rentz and her late husband Kevin. Carl is the “Pop” of Andy Ayer and his wife Ashley, Mitch Ayer and his wife Corey, Tamara Lynn Ayer, the late Joshua Carl Ayer, and the late Edward Rentz. He is the great grandfather of Christopher, James and Mason. Carl is the brother of Sara Rauth, Robert Ayer, Richard Ayer and his wife Shirley, and Carolyn Jennings. He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie Allen Ayer and Myrtle Florine Sease Ayer, his siblings Stancil Ayer, Mary Helen Brandt, Lyles Ayer, Earl Ayer, Sonny Ayer, Jimmy Ayer, Bobby Ayer, and Dot Lehew. Carl is the brother in law of Laurette and Carol. He is the uncle to many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.  

Carl is a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church. He was a superintendent at Cullum Mechanical and retired after over 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to cook, grill and eat. It brought him great joy to watch people enjoy his cooking, whether it was a family reunion, at his work sites or just a family gathering. Carl loved the Lord and his family. He loved to tell people about Jesus.

Visitation will be Friday, March 6, 2020 from 5 to 7 pm at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral Service will be 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Rocky Grove Baptist Church with Rev. John O’Cain ministering. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
