Carolyn (Wood) Atkinson

Mrs. Carolyn Wood Atkinson, 72, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday July 7, 2021.

Mrs. Carolyn is the widow of Earl Atkinson, Jr. Mrs. Carolyn is the mother of Linda Moore and her husband William “Bill”, and the late Laura Lee Steadman and her husband Gene. Her four-legged baby is Missy. She is the grandmother of Brandy Swartz and her husband Josh, Tiffany Steadman, Gregory Steadman, Randall Moore, Haley “Haley Bug” Moore, and the late Bradley James Corder. She is the great grandmother of Briar James Swartz, Ethan Cox, and Charlie Mae Cox. Mrs. Carolyn is the daughter of the late Cornal Wood and the late Ella Mae Rodgers Wood Quattlebaum. She is the stepdaughter of the late O’Neal Quattlebaum. Mrs. Carolyn is and granddaughter of the late Ervin Rodgers and the late Katie Rodgers, the late Jessie Allen Wood and the late Martha Wood. Mrs. Carolyn is the sister of Allen Wood and his wife Annette. Allen and Annette’s daughter is Michelle Wood. She also has many brother and sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Carolyn is a member of Gloverville Baptist Church. She loved to garden and can her harvest. Mrs. Carolyn enjoyed crossword puzzles. She had a spunky personality that everyone enjoyed being around. She loved everyone and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 pm Saturday, July 10, 2021 in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Service celebrating Mrs. Carolyn’s life will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday July 11, 2021 also in the chapel. Burial will follow in the Seivern Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Chris Addy will be ministering. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Seivern Baptist Church 1335 Seivern Rd, Wagener, SC 29164.
