Celia Lee "Peggy" (Lawrimore) Sumner

Pelion – Mrs. Celia Lee “Peggy” Lawrimore Poole Sumner, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022.

Mrs. Peggy is the mother of Donald Poole and his wife Janice, Joanne Slice and her husband Bobby, and Karen Poole. She is the grandmother of Brannon Slice and Elena, Brittany Slice, William Poole. Mrs. Peggy is the daughter of the late Ila Lawrimore Faircloth. She is the sister of Louise Culbreath, Betty Hutchins and the late Donald Ridings.

Mrs. Peggy was raised at John De La Howe School, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful member of Pelion Baptist Church. Mrs. Peggy was a humble servant and served the Lord diligently.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pelion Baptist Church PO Box 276, Pelion SC 29123.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Mrs. Peggy’s caregivers: Jessie Hartwell, Dorothy Morris, Kristalyn Poole, Juanita Tindal, Rachel Jacobs, and Tina Padgett.

A Graveside Service will be 1 pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Peggy will be laid to rest by her late husband, Otis “Sonny Boy” Poole. Pastor Charles Westbrook will be ministering to the family.
