Jean Charles LeFevre (82) died Friday, November 25, 2022 peacefully in his sleep. He was the son of the late Mattie Liza Gunter and Jean Alphonse LeFevre.
He attended Wagener High School and the University of South Carolina before joining the Army in 1963. He was stationed at Ft. Ord in California with the 78th Artillery. After his military service he owned and operated Associated Heating and Air Conditioning Supply, Inc. in Charleston for many years.
Later in life he returned to the University of South Carolina and graduated with a B.A. in Humanities and a Masters in Teaching. He retired from Follett Educational Services as a text book salesman.
Charles was an avid animal lover and supported many rescue organizations. He also loved telling stories of his childhood growing up in Wagener. Two of his favorite hobbies were photography and baseball.
Mr. LeFevre was predeceased by his sister, Allene LeFevre Buddin. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Ferrell LeFevre, step-daughter Leah Estridge Belcher (Chris), and nieces Melissa Buddin Tringali (John), Elizabeth Buddin von Kolnitz (Hayne), and Amy Buddin.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Convent Baptist Church Cemetery, 787 Convent Church Rd., Leesville, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pets Inc of West Columbia, P.O. Box 6394, West Columbia, SC 29169 or an animal rescue of your choice.
