Clyde Widener, 74, entered into rest on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
Left to cherish Clyde’s memories are his wife of 23 years, Josie Mae Holsonback Widener, his siblings and in-laws: Linda Widener Henderson, Joyce Widener Smith (Gary) Suber, Jackie Widener, Carolyn Widener, and Freddie (Kathy) Holsonback, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Clyde was born in Aiken County on March 17, 1951, to the late Artis Cleveland Widener and the late Juanita Myers Widener. He is also predeceased by his siblings and in-laws: Artis Eugene “Gene” (Carol) Widener, Dale Widener, Robert Wayne “Nob”Widener, Big Henderson, Wynell (Ira) Bledsoe, nephews: Johnny Widener and Jim Lybrand, and his fur babies: Lucy Widener, Lucky Widener, and Calvin Widener.
Clyde was a graduate of Wagener-Salley High School. He retired from Horse Creek Mill where he worked as a Dye Range Handler. Clyde was a man who enjoyed bringing joy and laughter to everyone he knew. Whether telling jokes or pulling pranks, Clyde’s favorite thing was making people laugh. He loved his wife dearly and their three dogs.
The family asks that memorials in honor of Clyde be made to Graniteville First Baptist Church at P. O. Box 119, Graniteville, SC 29829
Visitation will be 2 – 3 pm on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Graniteville First Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be at 3 pm also in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Wagener Cemetery.
