Daniel "Dan" Allen Smith

Batesburg – Mr. Daniel “Dan” Allen Smith, 65, answered his last call on Thursday, August 13, 2020.

Dan is the husband of Brenda “Sue” Heyward Smith. They had been married twenty-six years. He is the son of the late George Smith and the late Mary Lois Wheeler Smith. Dan is the brother of Leaver "Punk" Smith and his late wife Patsy, George S. "Buck"  Smith and his wife Carnell, Josephine Bedenbaugh and her husband Gerald, Judy Gantt and her husband Ricky, and Janet Auerhamer and her husband Jimmy. He is the brother-in-law of Betty Ruth Keisler and her husband Jesse, Linda Rodgers and her husband Terry, Connie Norris and her husband Tommy, Tony Heyward and his wife Wendy, and the late Jimmy Heyward.  Dan has many nieces and nephews as well as cousins.

Dan was a former employee of Billy Hallman Logging. He was a charter member of Sandy Ridge Fire Department having served as Fire Chief for a period of time.

Viewing will be Wednesday August 19, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services.   Due to the current pandemic face covering is required and social distancing will be observed. 

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Hall Cemetery. Pastor Jud Hook will be ministering to the family.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, for memorials to be made to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at 3651 Wheeler Road Augusta, GA, 30909.
