David K. Poole, Sr.

Mr. David K. Poole, Sr., 84, passed away on Tuesday May 16, 2023.

He was born and raised in Salley, SC and was the son of the late Arthur and Christabel Poole. Survived by his wife Hazel Poole of 60 years of marriage, sons: Kirk (Sherry) Poole, Herb (David) Poole, and Kevin (Angie) Poole, granddaughter: Felicia (Drew) Pittman, grandson: Bailey Poole, great grandsons: Caleb and Corbin Pittman, brother Carlyle (Sandra) Poole, sister-in-law Barbara Poole, nieces and nephews and his extended family Anthony, Jane and family. He is preceded in death by his brothers Tony, Kayo, and Rev. Christopher "Chric", sister: Lona Driggers.

Special thanks to our family: Anthony, Daniel, Kim, Jimmy, Trinity Hospice, and our Clinton United Methodist Church family. Thank God for giving David and Hazel 60 years of marriage, we have had a blessed and a great life. He loved his boys, his grandchildren, and great grands.

David retired from SRS after thirty-three and a half years as a computer programmer. He was a faithful member of Clinton UMC, where he served in many positions. He also served with the Hollow Creek Fire Department. David is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved camping, going to their place in the mountains. Most of all he loved God, his family, community, and his church. David enjoyed meeting once a year with his retired friends from SRS. They would meet once a year at each other’s homes. They called themselves “The Gang”. He will be missed greatly but not forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clinton UMC or Epworth Childrens Home.

Visitation will be 10-11 on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Clinton United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be at 11 also in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
