Delores Fox Shumpert

Pelion – Mrs. Delores Fox Shumpert, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Left to cherish Delores’s memories are her husband of 58 years: Steven Shumpert, Sr., daughter, Terry Bailey, grandchildren: Brent (Esther) Bailey, Vicki (Jerry Rose) Bailey, Amanda (Tim Smith) Shumpert, and Steven (Kaylie Beachum) Shumpert, III, great grandchildren: Brent Bailey, Jr., Jacob Bailey, Abigail Bailey, Elora Bailey, Elaina Bailey, Madilyn Rose, Billie Rose, Payton Anderson, Jaxson Granger, and Waylon Shumpert, her brother, Larry Fox, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Delores was born on March 15, 1949, to the late George Herman Fox and the late Margaret Smith Fox. She is also preceded in death by her son, Steven Shumpert, Jr., brother, Luther “Butch” Fox, her son-in-law, Billy Ray Bailey, and her four-legged babies: Casper and Rascal.

Mrs. Delores retired from Lexington School District 1, where she worked in the library at Pelion High School and then as the Bookkeeper at Lexington High School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Delores enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She would take them on camping trips when they were younger. She also loved cruising with her husband. Their favorite cruise together was to Alaska. Her other favorite place was the beach with her toes in the sand.

Graveside Service will be 3 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Parrish Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to Holy Trinity Luther Church, PO Box 144 , Pelion SC 29123.
