Mr. Donald “Donnie” Ray Black, Sr., 82, entered into rest on Monday, June 24, 2024.
Donnie is the father of Donnette (Irving) Jeffcoat, Tammy Black, Donald “Little Donnie” (Janet) Ray Black, Jr., Todd (Rene) Black. He is the grandfather of Brad (Keri) Jeffcoat, Megan Lee, Tiffany (Ralph Jr.) Long, Kayla Black, Christian (Kirstin) Black, Sean (Sara) Adcock, Chris (Kana) Adcock, Kevin (Erin) Adcock, and Taylor Russell. Donnie is the great grandfather of Dalton Scofield, Bryce Jeffcoat, Logan Lee, Tanner Lee, Jacob Long, Faith Rebolj, Abby Rebolj, Raylan Black, Dean Black, Yujin Adcock, Keiji Adcock, Yuka Adcock, Addison Adcock, Aubrey Adcock, and Benjamin Adcock. He is the significant other to Debbie Whittle.
Donnie was born on February 27, 1942 to the late Frances Katherine Long Black and the late Willie Horace Black. He is the brother of Patricia Shumpert, Marie Bussey, Johnny Barden, Katheryn (Stewart) Swain, the late James Black, the late Billy Black, and the late Allen Kyzer.
Donnie was a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a Plant Manager for various Manufacturing Plants in the local community. After retiring, he owned and operated Black’s Tree Service. Donnie enjoyed the outdoors; especially dirt track racing and riding his motorcycle.
Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 am on Saturday June 29, 2024 at Rocky Grove Baptist Church, with funeral service at 11:00 am followed by burial in the church cemetery. Rev. John O’Cain and Rev. Roy Morgan will be ministering.
