Mr. Floyd Douglas “Doug” Chavious, Sr., 83, entered into rest on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Doug is the loving husband of Heidi Brogan Chavious. They were married on April 14, 1965. He is the father of Floyd Douglas Chavious, Jr., Jerry Wayne Chavious, Timothy Vincent Chavious and his wife Shelley, Christina “Tina” Marie Chavious Edgemon and her husband Ray, and the late Stephen Douglas “Tank” Chavious. Doug is the “PaPa” of Michael Dean Chavious. He is the brother of the late Permon Chavious, Priscilla Jackson, Mildred Chavis, Allmon Chavious, Paul Chavious, Oliver Chavious, Jr., and Wade Rodger Chavious. Doug is the brother-in-law of Jim Brogan and his wife Theresa, and Marie Jennings. He also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Doug was a Master Carpenter and a jack of all trades. An avid outdoorsman, he had a true passion and love for hunting and fishing. Doug’s main priority and devotion was to his family whom he loved dearly.
Visitation will be 1 – 2 pm on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Rocky Grove Baptist Church. A service celebrating Doug’s life will follow at 2 pm also in the church sanctuary. Rev. John O’Cain will be officiating.
