Ellis "Dude" Waters

Ellis Ray “Dude” Waters, 71, entered into rest on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Left to cherish Dude’s memories are his son, James Ellis (Brandi) Waters, grandchildren: Corey Waters, Jasmine Bozman, Sophia Smith, Amielia Teasle, Logan Teasle, Boycen Waters, Braxton Waters, and Winter Waters, siblings: Gladys Day, Janie (Jerry) Smith, Joseph “Jake” (Lisa Youngblood) Waters, and Lonnie Waters, and special friend, Melinda Blaxton.

Dude was born on January 16, 1955, to the late Matthew Quincy “M.Q.” Waters and the late Bessie Mae Leach Waters. He is also preceded in death by his siblings: Grace Pruitt, Anner Jane Leach, Lewis Waters, Eloise Waters, Leigh Taylor, and Connie Waters.

Dude was a lover of the outdoors; especially hunting and fishing. His favorite place was anywhere on the river. Dude enjoyed working with his hands, planting and tending to his garden.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Dude's life will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 6 pm in the Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. A time of visitation with the family will follow the service. Pastor Dale Mast will be ministering.
