Ms. Eunice Turner Blanton Cates, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Ms. Eunice is the widow of Donald Gene Cates who had been married for 17 years until his passing. She is also the widow of Carol H. Blanton. She is the mother of Robert (Gloria) Blanton, Karen Blanton and the late Hope Bumgardner. Mrs. Eunice is the grandmother of Nicholas (April) Blanton, Allison (David) Brunson, Breanna (Clayton) Norris, Jill (Julian) Marsh, Robin Bumgardner, Adrian (Lorenzo) Hall, Aaron Blanton, Kaitlin Blanton, and the late Jessie Blanton. She is the great grandmother of Will Blanton, Sydney Blanton, Caroline Grace Brunson, Jackson Brunson, Charlotte Brunson, Connor Norris, Chris Bumgardner, Brett Steadman, Dominic Grimes, Aaliyah Blanton, Autumn Blanton, Jordan Hall, Brooklyn Hall, Bentley Hall, Haven Hall, and the late Trevor Blanton.
Ms. Eunice was born in Horry County, to the late Hope H. Turner and Dessie Brown Turner. She is the sister of Rachel Turner, the late Mary Branton, the late Otis Turner, the late Shirley Powell, the late Fleecie Humphries, the late Vernel Turner, and the late Ned Turner.
Ms. Eunice was a member of Seivern Baptist Church. She was a people person, she loved everyone she met. She especially loved her family. Ms. Eunice enjoyed fishing and reading her bible.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Trinity Hospice for the care shown to Ms. Eunice.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Seivern Baptist Church Building Fund at 1337 Seivern Rd., Wagener, SC 29164.
Visitation will be 10-11 am on Saturday July 20, 2024 at Seivern Baptist Church. Funeral Service will follow at 11 am also in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
