Lexington – Jackie R. Dugan, 78, gained a new glorified body on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. After a battle of esophageal cancer and a fall resulting in a broken femur complicated by double pneumonia, he gained his Heavenly wings. He was ready – physically and most importantly, spiritually. His life stories and humor will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachel M. Dugan; his stepchildren, Beth (Greg) Garvy and John (Shannon) Sharpe; his grandchildren, Gregg Garvy, Jonathon Sharpe, Nikki (Justin) Jernigan, Grant Sawyer, Brittany (Ken) Smoak, Danielle (Adam Carver) Garvy, Brook (Brandon Welch) Sharpe, McKenzie (Josh) Lindsey and Miranda Sawyer; his heart claimed grandchildren, Faith and Gabriella Stone; his great grandchildren, Aeris Carver, Jameson Jernigan, Colton Jernigan and Beckham Lindsey; brother W.T. Dugan Jr., nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Wilford T. and Annie M. (Johnson) Duggan; siblings, Dorothy Sherrill, Eugene Dugan, Carl Duggan, Earl Dugan, Janie Rikard and Tim Dugan.
There will be a memorial service held Saturday at Lexington Church of God (1331 Nazareth Road, Lexington) at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
