James Evans Wood

Mr. James Evans Wood, 74, entered into rest on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

James was born in Aiken County on January 17, 1952, to the late Joseph “Joby” Wood, Sr. and the late Vera Martha Newsome Wood Reed. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Faye Yon Wood, brother, Jimmy Wood, and sister, Frances Gregory.

James is survived by his brother, Joseph “Joby” Wood, Jr., sister, Linda Wood, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

James enjoyed listening to church music. He enjoyed having a good time and making people laugh.

James was cared for by Kenny and Lounette Chew for many years and other special people in recent years.

A Memorial Service honoring Jame’s life will be 2 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Bethcar Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Addy will be officiating. James will be laid to rest at Clinton Methodist Church Cemetery.
