Wagener – Mr. James Daniel “Jimmy” Cook, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully surrounded by his family at home, on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Left to cherish Jimmy’s memories are his loving wife of 60 years, Patsy Deese Cook, his son and daughter in law Jay and Blythe “Brie” Cook, grandchildren: Whitney Stallings and her husband Keelan, Chandler Cook, Isaac Cantrell, Andrew Cantrell, Ethan Cantrell and Caroline Cantrell, great grandchildren: Madison Stallings and Olivia Stallings, brother Ronnie Cook and his wife Sybil, in-laws: Rita Snipes, Frank Deese, Marie and John Morgan, Ronnie and Essie Deese, Perry and Chris Deese, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
Jimmy was born on April 18, 1946 to the late James Boyce “J. B.” Cook, Jr. and the late Marion Lee Sturkie Cook. He was also predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia and Willard Crowley and Julie and Tony Neighbors, his in-laws: Vickie Deese, June Deese, and Bobby and Gloria Deese.
Jimmy loved his family and friends. He was affectionately known as PaPa by his grands and great grands. Jimmy had a love for people (most of the time). He was a member of Bethcar Baptist Church. Jimmy loved farming and was very meticulous with everything he did, especially his farm equipment. His idea of relaxing was being home enjoying looking over the farm and cows and being waited on by his loving wife (all of the time).
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at Bethcar Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 2:30 pm also in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Chris Addy will be ministering to the family.
Memorials may be made to Bethcar Baptist Church, PO Box 546, Wagener, SC 29164 or Alzheimer's Association 3223 Sunset Blvd, Suite 100, West Columbia SC 29169.
