Janette (Roberts) Sturkey

Janette Roberts Sturkey, 64, entered into rest on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Mrs. Janette is the wife of the late Wyman Louis Sturkey, Sr. They were married for 43 years until his passing in 2020. She is the loving mother of Renee (Chris) Williams, Wyman Louis Sturkey, Jr., and the late Jennifer Sturkey. She is the Granny of Kayla (Nick) Fenn, Nicholas Williams, Nathan Willams, and many adopted grandchildren. Mrs. Janette is daughter of the late Mavis Janette Zahler Roberts and the late Richard Nathan Roberts. She is the sister of Richard “Ricky” (Christina) Roberts, and the late Bonnie Rose Roberts. She is the sister-in-law of Jeanie (the late Barry) Roof, Debra Gutierrez, Mark (Elouise) Sturkey, and the late Johnnie (JoAnn) Sturkey. Mrs. Janette’s special niece is Kim Gutierrez. She was loved by many others whom she claimed as family.

Mrs. Janette retired from the United States Postal Service where she worked as a mail carrier at the Red Bank location for 25 years. She enjoyed having lunch with her friends, watching Netflix, doing puzzles, taking care of loved ones, and animals. Mrs. Janette had a soft spot for cats, especially Prissy and Boots. Her grandchildren were her whole life. She will be forever loved and missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1 pm on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Steam Mill Bottom Family Cemetery.
