Jeanette Corbett Shumpert

Mrs. Jeanette Corbett Shumpert, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 15, 2023.

Mrs. Jeanette is the wife of James “Shump” Shumpert, they have been married for 60 years. She is the mother of Robert “Robbie” Ernest Shumpert, James Brett Shumpert, Michael Brandon Shumpert and his partner Jason Baker, and the late Warren Stanley Shumpert. Mrs. Jeanette is the grandmother of Samantha Shumpert and her partner Jesse Sprouse; and the great grandmother of Emma Sprouse, Ellie Sprouse, and Winnie Sprouse. Mrs. Jeanette is the daughter of the late Leila Marie Rawls Hood and the late Robert Corbett. She is the sister of the late Brenda (the late James) Whittington. Mrs. Jeanette is the sister-in-law of Walter (the late Joyce) Shumpert, Donald (Sarah) Shumpert, Joyce (Billy) Gantt, Patsy (the late Bobby) Hilyer, Faye (George) Cannon, Lynn (John) Brettschneider, Elaine (Stan) Spears, the late Huley Shumpert, the late Frances Gunter, and the late Paul “Vern” Shumpert. She has many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Jeanette was a member of Wagener United Methodist Church. She was a former town clerk for the town of Wagener. Mrs. Jeanette was a Purchasing Officer for DHEC where she retired after 33 years of service. She was also the former president of the Wagener Garden Club where she was a longtime member.

Memorials may be made to Wagener United Methodist Church in honor of Mrs. Jeanette.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11 am on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Wagener United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery.
