Jimmie Lee Rushton, 72, entered into rest on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
Left to cherish Jimmie’s memories are his wife of twenty-five years, Sara Bell Day Rushton, children: Tammie Kay Alveshire and her husband Gary, Joshua Joe Snipes, Jessica Marie Elliott and her husband Michael, Andrew Scott Snipes and his wife Destiny, grandchildren: Brittany Dixon and her husband Caleb, Scott Andrew Tager, Harry Alveshire, Daisy Alveshire, Bella Marie Elliott, Gracelyn Joy Elliott, Jasper Miles Snipes, and Harper Callie Snipes, great grandchildren: Claire Stark, Avery Tager, Cash Tager, and baby girl on the way – Darlene White, mother, Arlene Williams Hinson, brother and sister-in-law, Anthony Rushton and his wife Laura “Lolly”, and Stacey Rushton, nieces and nephews: Amy Miller and her husband Matt, James Rushton and his wife Linda, Mariah Matthews and her husband Earl, and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jimmie was born on September 9, 1953, to Arlene Willliams Hinson and the late James Rushton. He is also preceded in death by his grandchildren, Michaela Marie Elliott and James Andrew Elliott, and his brother, Mark Rushton, and his step-father, Crawford Lee Hinson.
Jimmie was a lover of music; playing his guitar, singing, and listening to his favorite songs. He also enjoyed carpentry work, making and creating with his hands. A creative mind, he wrote stories and spent time watching his favorite movies. Jimmie was a history buff and was always seeking to know as much as possible. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. But most of all, Jimmie loved his family dearly. His most cherished memories were spent with his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 – 2:30 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at New Holland Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral Service will be 2:30 pm also in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
