John Gary Applegate

Pelion  –  John Gary Applegate, 63, entered into rest on Saturday, October 31, 2020.

John is the husband of Deborah Robbins Applegate. He is the father of Stephanie Francesca (Eric) Applegate, Melissa (Jeremy “J.P.”) Lucas, Jennifer (Mitchell, Jr.) Hall and the late Brian Tindall. John is grandfather of Cody, Blake, Lissa, Angel, Piper, Sidney, Annie, Christopher, Carolina, Johnathan, Tyndall, and Bentlee. He is the brother of Eddie Applegate, Honey (Chester) Keisler, Charles “Chuck” (Theresa) Applegate, Pat (Todd) Ballington, Gary (Janet) Applegate, the late Richie Applegate, and the late Clifford “Cliffie” Applegate. He is the brother-in-law of Nancy Applegate, Dennis Robbins, Daniel (Dianne) Robbins, Donald (Jayne) Robbins, David (Karran) Robbins, and the late Diana Robbins. John is the son of the late Clifford Okerson Applegate and the late Helen Marie White Applegate Monroe. He has many nieces and nephews. His fur babies are Sparky and Delanie.

John was a member of Convent Baptist Church. He loved fishing and crabbing. He was a Washington Redskins fan and loved listening to the Beatles. He loved old cars. John will be forever missed and loved.

Memorials may be made to Convent Baptist Church Building Fund at 787 Convent Church Road, Leesville SC 29070.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 1 to 2:30 pm at Convent Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be 2:30 on Thursday, November 5, 2020 also at Convent Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastors Travis Crumpton will be officiating.
