Born on October 16, 1940, to the late Mary Frances Weeks Wise and the late John Fletcher Wise, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his son Johnathan Todd Wise, and in-laws: Clayton Smith, David Eidson, and Robert Coleman.
Johnny served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was member of Earle Church of God, where he served the Lord faithfully in men’s ministry, as a Sunday School teacher, and a deacon. He had a servant’s heart and dedicated his life to serving his Heavenly Father. Johnny’s favorite hobbies were cooking, fishing, and gardening. He was well known for his talent and ability to catch fish; many of the fish he caught were used for church fish fry’s. Johnny’s green thumb produced an abundance of a harvest. Well known for his tomatoes and potatoes, Johnny not only shared his vegetables with others, but he also shared his expansive gardening knowledge. Johnny loved his family dearly: his four-legged companion, Boo Boo, and his sister-in-law Betty who moved in their home after the passing of her husband. He was affectionately known as Papa Johnny by his grandchildren. Johnny’s legacy of service, devotion, and love will always be remembered.
The Wise family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Cresent Hospice of Aiken and a special thank you to Jessica Toole, Renee West, and DuWuanna Elam for the care given to Johnny.
