Mrs. Sharon Jolene “Joy” Dunlap Dyches, 82, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 2, 2024
Joy is survived by her husband of twenty-two years James “Jim” Daniel Dyches, Sr., her children; Sherril (Paul) Brice, Robert (Crystal) Sather, and Rodney “Kenny” Sather, stepchildren; James D. (Mavis) Dyches, Jr., Alan (Gina) Dyches, Lori (Eddie) Roberts, Lisa Greenwood, Brian (Boos) Dyches, and Jason Dyches, her grandchildren; Kevin Brice, Gregory Brice, Matthew Sather, Ciana (Sage) Davis, Jacob (Jillian) Sather, Stephanie Sather, and Emily Sather, great grandchildren; Victoria Sather, Oliver Davis, Layton Sather, Preston Sather, Jade Sather, and Matthew Sather, her sister, Sara Dunlap, and brother Jim Dunlap.
Joy was born on August 18, 1942 to the late James Clifford Dunlap and the late Ruby Virginia Hibbitts.
Joy enjoyed sewing, completing puzzles, and reading. One of her favorite things to do was go to the Senior Center and play Bingo with her friends. She had a huge love for NASCAR. Joy had her own way of doing things, she had a big heart and always extended a hand to those in need. She loved her family, extended family, and her church family dearly. Joy was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Aiken. She enjoyed visiting with her church family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to the Listine Gunter Courtney Senior Center, 49 Roy Street Wagener, SC 29164.
A Service Celebratiing the Life of Mrs. Joy Dyches will be Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. A time of Visitation will follow the service. Mrs. Joy will be buried at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
