Joyce Marlene (Baker) Gantt

Leesville – Mrs. Joyce Marlene Baker Gantt, 71, entered into rest on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Mrs. Joyce is the wife of Dwight Albert Gantt, Sr. She is the mother of Dwight A. Gantt, Jr. Mrs. Joyce is the daughter of the late Vernon Theo Baker and the late Bessie Mae Winslow Baker. She is the sister of Carolyn Louise Baker Adkins and the late Vernon Edward Baker. Mrs. Joyce is the aunt of Vernon L. Hammond, Thomas E. Hammond, H. Denice Krasselt and her husband Ernest Krasselt, Jr., Amanda P. McDonald and her husband Eric, and the late Constance C. Baker. She is the great aunt of Angela Marshall and her husband Justin, Ernest Krasselt, III and his wife Cathrine, Scotty Hornsby and his wife Breanna, Stephanie Hornsby, Jackson Brewer, Maddison Hammond, and Braedon Hammond. She is the great great aunt of Dimitri Marshall and Ernest Krasselt IV.

Mrs. Joyce is a member of Convent Baptist Church. She loved cooking. Mrs. Joyce was a manager at Kmart. She was a loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service honoring Mrs. Joyce’s life will be 2 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Convent Baptist Church. Visitation will follow after the service. Pastor Travis Crumpton will be ministering to the family.
