Joyce Reece Salley

Salley – Ms. Joyce Reece Salley, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 8, 2025.

Left to cherish Joyce’s memories are her sons: Fred Lewis Salley, Jr. and his wife Alison, Steven Bryan Salley and his wife Yvette, and Mark Reece Salley, grandchildren: Jordan Salley and his wife Bailee, Grace Salley, Layne Salley, Jackson Salley, brother, Randall Reece and his wife Tracy, brother-in-law, Rollett Evett, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ms. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Fred Lewis Salley, Sr., they were married for 50 years until his passing in 2005. She is also preceded in death by her parents: Hollis Lother Reece and Grace Chappelear Reece, and sister, Charlotte Evett.

Joyce was the Postmaster of Salley Post Office where she retired from after 22 years of service. A faithful member of Salley Baptist Church, Joyce lived out her faith in Jesus with love and grace. Her family was the center of her world, especially her three boys, who she adored. She was well known for her delicious cooking and enjoyed sharing meals with her family and friends. In her free time, you could find Joyce at the local flea markets, yard sales, and antique stores searching for her next treasure. She was a woman full of kindness and joy, sharing her beautiful smile with everyone. To know Joyce was to love her.

Proudly serving as Joyce’s pallbearers are: Fred Salley, Jr., Steven Salley, Mark Salley, Jordan Salley, Jackson Salley, and Randall Reece.

Visitation will be 2-3 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 3 pm also in the chapel. Burial will follow at Salley Oakview Cemetery where Joyce will be laid to rest next to her husband, Fred. Pastor Henry Cooper and Pastor Phillip Proveaux will be officiating.
