Judy S. Parrish

Ms. Judy Loretta Swartz Parrish, 81, entered into rest on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Judy is the mother of Brian Taylor and Brice Taylor.  She is the grandmother of Morgan Taylor and Hannah Taylor.  Judy is the widow of William “Bill” Parrish. She is the daughter of the late Lorene Quattlebaum Swartz and the late Audrey Brice Swartz. Judy is the sister of the late Joan Kitchings. She has many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Judy is a member of Bethcar Baptist Church.  She was the first woman to graduate from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. Judy had the honor of being Twin Cities first female Pharmacist. She retired from the South Carolina State Mental Hospital as Chief Pharmacist. She also worked at several other pharmacies after retiring from the State.  Mrs. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and being around water. Especially the beach. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was known as “Jazzy Judy” for her fun and outgoing spirit. She will be loved and missed by everyone.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Sydney Slade, Madysen Clamp, McLeod Home Care, and her granddaughter for her care in the last years of her life.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Bethcar Baptist Church, PO Box 546, Wagener SC 29164.

 A Funeral Service will be 11 am Friday, June 30, 2023 at Bethcar Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation will follow immediately after the burial in the church fellowship hall.
