Mrs. Kathryn “Kathy” Louise Padgett Jeffcoat, 67, entered into rest on Friday, January 5, 2024.
Kathy is the wife of Bobby Jeffcoat, they have been married for 48 years. She is the mother of Barrett Jeffcoat and his wife Alysia, Daniel Jeffcoat and his wife Patti, and Patrick Jeffcoat. She is the “Nanny” of Wyatt Jeffcoat, Paisley Jeffcoat, Emery Jeffcoat, and Autumn Jeffcoat whose mother is Ashley Jeffcoat. She was born in Leesville to the late Edna Rae Senterfeit Padgett and the late Emery Edward Padgett. Kathy is the sister of Emette Hutto and her husband Lendel, Dona Smith and her husband Maxie, Dean Padgett and his wife Renee, and the late Robbie Padgett and his wife Joyce. She is the sister-in-law of Terri Cannon and her husband Tommy, and Ray Jeffcoat. Kathy also has many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Kathy faithfully attended Pauline Church of Christ where she served in many capacities. She retired from Julian H. Fair III Dentistry where she worked as a Dental Assistant for over 30 years. Kathy was a woman of faith who served the Lord and truly lived like Jesus called her to. She had a servant’s heart and went above and beyond to be there for her family and friends. Kathy had a green thumb, she loved gardening and flowers. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crafting, going antiquing, flea market shopping, and going to the mountains. Kathy was full of life and her family enjoyed her fun side. She would lead her family in campfire songs, her personal favorite was God Bless The USA. Kathy’s world revolved around her family: from spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren to weekly Friday night family dinners. She taught her grandchildren how to cook, bake, and can crops from her garden. Kathy was the pillar of the Jeffcoat family. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and a family who loves her more than words can express. Our family is at peace knowing that Kathy is no longer in pain and through our hope in Jesus, we await the day we see her again.
The Jeffcoat family wishes to express our deepest appreciation to the many cousins and friends who reached out in various ways of love to assist us during these last few weeks.
Memorials in Kathy’s honor may be made to Pauline Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Blizzard Funeral Home Chapel. Service will follow, beginning at 6:00 pm also in the chapel.
