New Holland – Mrs. Linda Rose Austin Kirkland, 80, entered into rest on Monday, December 27, 2021. She is the wife of the late Harold “Harry” Fredrick Kirkland. They were married for forty-six years at his passing in 2011. Mrs. Linda is the loving mother of Michele Burnett and her husband Michael, and Harold Todd Kirkland. She is the grandmother of Austin Lee Kirkland and his wife Sarah, Julia Michaela Kirkland and her significant other Dakota Swartz, Riley Kirkland Burnett, Reagan Michele Burnett, Raney Lane Burnett, and Jason Michael Burnett. Mrs. Linda is the great grandmother of Blake Alan Kirkland, Miles Aubrey Kirkland, Aerilee Elise Pardue, and Attalynn LowRay Pardue. She is daughter of the late James Otto Austin and the late Rose Marie Knox Austin. She is the sister of Jim Austin and his wife Conie, Tim Austin and his wife Cindy, Jane Martin and her husband Carlton, and the late Sybil Marteen and her husband Joe. Mrs. Linda is the sister-in-law of James Henry Kirkland and his wife Margaret Kay, and the late Lane Cofer Kirkland and his wife Linda.
Mrs. Linda is a member of Pauline Church of Christ. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching the news, and watching singing competition shows. Mrs. Linda loved spending time with her family. She loved vacationing in the mountains with Michele and her kids, going on cruises with Harry; Margaret Kay and Jim; Betty Lou and Davis; and others. She was an avid jewelry and gemstone collector. She enjoyed telling the background of each piece in her collection. She also loved shopping for fashionable clothes and looking her very best at all times. Mrs. Linda will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Visitation will be 2-3 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Pauline Church of Christ. Funeral Service will follow at 3 pm. Mrs. Linda will beside laid to rest in the church cemetery by her husband Harry. Pastor Rick Farwell will be ministering to the family.
