Loree Fallaw Kirkland

Mrs. Loree Fallaw Kirkland, 96, went to her eternal home on Friday, July 21, 2023. Born in 1926 to the late Hammond Fallaw and the late Sallie Turner Fallaw. Loree is survived by her grandchildren: Paige Kirkland and his wife Aimee, Hayley Kirkland Yates and her husband Rodney, Garrett Kirkland, Brent Kirkland and his wife Angie, her greatgrandchildren: Hunter Kirkland, Kamrin Kirkland, Paxton Kirkland, Brianna Chavis and her husband Bobby, Brenna Kirkland, and Jack Kirkland, her daughter-in-law: Marsha Kirkland, her brother: Robert Fallaw, and her sister-in-law: Sarah K. Kirkland. Loree is also survived by two women who held a special place in her heart: Marsha Dement and Michele Burnett whom she loved like a granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband: George A. Kirkland, her two sons: Wendell Kirkland and Lynwood Kirkland, her daughter: Donna Kirkland, and her 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Loree, affectionately known as Nena, loved her family. Nena also loved sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, and taking care of children.  She was VERY independent and hardworking.  She worked in the Wagener Shirt Factory and ran the George Kirkland Grocery with her husband for over 60 years. She was a member of Pauline Church of Christ.  She served as a Sunday School teacher and was also in the choir.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.

The Kirkland family would like to express their appreciation to the I Care 4 You Group and Sarah Williams for the care shown to Mrs. Loree.

Visitation will be 10 – 11 am on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Pauline Church of Christ. Funeral Service will be at 11 am also in the church sanctuary. The family will honor Loree’s life with a private burial.
