Luke Collins

Mr. Lewis “Luke” Petteway Collins, 82, entered into rest on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Luke was born on September 4, 1942, in Wauchula, Florida to the late John Houston Collins and the late Ola Mae Petteway Collins.  He is also preceded in death by his brother, John Hez Collins and his wife Lila Mae and his niece, Kathy Collins Shull. 

Luke is survived by his sister, Damie Ray Simons and nephews: John Michael “Mike” Collins and his wife Terri, Lance Simons and his wife Kimberly, and Vince Simons and his wife Denise.

Luke served his country proudly in the United States Navy. After his time in the military, he worked as a heavy equipment operator until he retired.

The Collins family would like thank Sonya and Keith Yon for the care they showed to Luke.

The family will honor Luke’s life with a private service.
