Wagener – Mr. Lyman Harvey Cook, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Mr. Lyman is the loving husband of Bobbie Harrison Cook. They have been married for 25 years. He is the father of Kevin Cook and his wife LaNora, Stacey Johnson, Robin Shiffner and her husband Jeff, Pam Logan and her husband John, Teresa Toole and her husband Ronnie, and the late Stewart Harrison, Sr. Mr. Lyman is the Pop of Lacey Prideaux and her husband Brandon, John Babcock and his wife Lori, Andrew Johnson, Amber Johnson, Jeffery Shiffner, Joey McDougal, Jr., Katlyn Day, Lynsey Day, Tiffany Donahue and her husband James, R.J. Toole and his wife Jessica, Stewart Harrison, Jr. and his wife Tiffany, Robert Harrison, Brittany Perera and her husband Cameron, and Dorothy Rocca and her husband Chris. He is the great grandfather of Avery Prideaux, Harper Prideaux, Kendyl Babcock, Nolan Babcock, Carrie McDougal, Caiden McDougal, Lily McDougal, Kenny McDougal, Sloan Hawkins, Harrison Donahue, Harper Donahue, Hamilton Donahue, Ryan Toole, Logan Moore, Addie Toole, Stella Harrison, Robert Harrison, Jr., Jack Harrison, Analeigh Perera, Declan Perera, Etta Perera, Arianna Rocca, Christopher Rocca, Jr., and the late Stewart “Tripp” Harrison, III.
Mr. Lyman is the brother of Nima Lee Simpson and her husband the late Robert, Anita Guerin and her husband the late Lawrence, Larry Garvin and his wife Betty, the late C.D. “Witt” Cook, Jr., the late Velma Livingston and her husband the late Everette, and the late Earlene Simpson and her husband the late Horace.
Mr. Lyman played football at Wagener High School and for the University of South Carolina. He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He served his country proudly for 23 years as an aircraft mechanic. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Following his military service he worked for Beach Aircraft Hawker, retiring in 1975. Mr. Lyman is a member of Seivern Baptist Church and a member of the VFW Post # 6304. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, stepfather, and Pop. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Service Celebrating Mr. Lyman’s life will be 3 pm on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Seivern Baptist Church with Rev. John O’Cain, and Rev. Milford Oswald ministering. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full Military Honors presented by the United States Air Force. Honorary Pallbearers will be the VFW Post # 6304.
