Margaret Starnes

Wagener – Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Derrick Starnes, 88, entered into rest on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Left to cherish Margaret’s memory are her children: Debra Light and her husband Henry, Danny Starnes and his wife Alderesa, Randy Starnes and his wife Brittany, and Marty Starnes and his wife Susan, grandchildren: Crystal (Ken) Gordy, Henry (Jordan) Charlton Light, Ashley (Kristen) Light, Justin (Sydney) Starnes, Jordan (Meghan) Starnes, Syrena (Scott) Curry, Caden Starnes, Ethan Starnes, Jacob Starnes, Christy Starnes, and Darlene Donofrio, great grandchildren: Kyle Gordy, Cody (Hannah) Gordy, Amber Light, Charlie Light, Blaine Light, Cade Light, Avery Starnes, Emerson Starnes, Caitlyn (Calvin) Calcutt, Cassidie Curry, Brianna Starnes, Payton Starnes, Preston Starnes, Victoria Donofrio, and Gabriel Donofrio, and great great grandchildren: Daniel Jarvis, Parker Jarvis, Everly Calcutt, and four babies on the way.

Margaret was married to the late Clyde Owens Starnes for 69 years until his passing in 2020. She was born on October 27, 1935 to the late Rosa Mae Rawl Derrick and the late Richard Elemuel Derrick. She is also preceded in death by her son: Donald Owens Starnes, grandsons: Jeffery Starnes, Christopher Starnes, and Brandon Starnes.

Mrs. Margaret loved listening to and singing gospel music. She also enjoyed fishing. Mrs. Margaret will be forever loved and missed.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The Starnes family will receive friends immediately following the service.
