Margaretta “Marge” Irene Woods, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Marge was born in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania on September 13, 1936, to the late Ray Erwin Woods and the late Grace Suzanne Garvin Woods. She is also predeceased by her sister, Mary Jane Woods Hoover. She is survived by her nephew, Evan (Trudy) Hoover of Pittsburgh, PA, and his children: Devon and Jessup, nephew, Gary (Linda) Hoover, and his son Ryan, and her brother-in-law, Delmer Hoover.
Marge earned a master’s degree in mathematics and was a high school math teacher. She taught mathematics on deployed Navy ships for several years, 1998-2001. She also went on several mission trips to foreign countries including South Africa and the Philippines. Marge enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Courtney Senior Center where she completed countless puzzles. Marge was a faithful servant of Christ, she led Bible studies, taught Sunday school, was an avid reader of the Bible and was licensed as a local minister in the Wagener area. Marge had a kind and compassionate heart, always putting the needs of others before her own.

A Service Celebrating Marge’s life will be 4 pm on Sunday March 29, 2026, at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church – 648 St. Matthews Road Swansea, SC 29160. Visitation will follow the service.
