Mildred (Miller) Shealy

Mrs. Mildred Miller Shealy, 85, entered into rest on Saturday, September 17, 2022. She was a lifelong native of Lexington County. She worked throughout her early years as a clerk and spent her later years enjoying time with her husband, her pets, traveling, gardening, reading, and praying for her family. She was very proud of successfully completing her Emmaus Walk. She was a member of South Lexington Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Walter Mitchell Shealy, her parents; Robert Cleveland Miller and Lillie Jeffcoat Whittaker, her siblings; George Whittaker, Alberta Dooley, and Mae Ruth Lambert, and her stepchildren, Steve Shealy and Todd Shealy.

She is survived by her children Steve (Teresa) Busbee of Walterboro, Terry (Judy) Busbee of Lexington, Darrell (Pamela) Busbee of Pace, FL, Glen (Pepper) Busbee of Blythewood, Michael (Kathy) Busbee of West Columbia, Julie-Ann (Bryan) Hatcher of Lutz, FL, as well as Mitchell’s children; Timothy (Ann) Shealy of West Columbia, and Keith (Julie) Shealy of Lexington. She also leaves behind grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and her siblings; James Miller and Stan Miller.

The family wishes to thank the staff members of Millennium Post Acute Rehabilitation for caring for Mrs. Mildred like she was their family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – 3223 Sunset Blvd, Suite 100, West Columbia SC 29169.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home Chapel at Southland Memorial Gardens from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.  Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
