Muriel (Jeffcoat) Black

Wagener – Mrs. Marilyn Muriel Jeffcoat Black, 81, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

Mrs. Muriel is the wife of Wendell Carl Black, they have been married for 34 years. Mrs. Muriel was married to the L. C. Williamson until his passing. She is the mother of Donna Hoover and her husband Ricky, Terri Collins and her husband Mike, Monica Taylor and her husband Travis, and the late Ron Black. Mrs. Muriel is the grandmother of Kyle Hoover and Dillon Taylor (Savannah). She is the great grandmother of Kael Hoover and Charleston Taylor. Mrs. Muriel is the daughter of the late John Wesley Jeffcoat, Sr. and the late Lee Ellen Chavis Jeffcoat. She is the sister of Peggy J. Dillon, Linda J. Whitesides and her husband Jerry, John W. Jeffcoat, Jr. and his wife Cindy, and the late Shelby J. Stevenson. Mrs. Muriel has many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Muriel graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Master’s Degree in Education. She taught in Aiken, Orangeburg, and Barnwell County. She is a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Muriel enjoyed working in her yard and growing flowers. She also enjoyed fishing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Muriel’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Bell’s Caregivers and Trinity Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Muriel.

Visitation will be 1: 30 – 2:30 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Rocky Grove Baptist Church. A service celebrating Mrs. Muriel’s life will follow at 2:30 pm also in the church sanctuary. Rev. John O’Cain will be ministering to the family.
