Nathan Hoover Obituary

Barnwell – Mr. Henry Nathan Hoover, 62, entered into rest on Sunday, May 3, 2020.

Nathan is the husband of Ann Cave Hoover. He is the father of Nicholas “Nick” Tyler Hoover and his wife Chelsea of Cheektowaga, N.Y., and the late Kristen Makayla Hoover.  Nathan is the grandfather of Emberlee Makayla Hoover and a host of other grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is the son of Ellie Walton Hoover and the late Henry Charlie Hoover.  Nathan is the stepfather of Tiffany Lewis and her husband Randall of Bronx, N.Y., Stephanie Rowe and her husband of Denmark, SC, and Tony R. Cave of Barnwell. Nathan is the brother of Connie Hoover of West Columbia, Ronnie Hoover and his wife Bonnie of Lexington, Bertie Hoover of West Columbia, and Leslie Hoover and his wife Kathy of Gilbert. He is the uncle of Leslie “Les” Stanley and her husband Alex of Leesville, Stacey Craps and her husband Rodney of Gilbert, Elizabeth Hoover-Lolo and her husband Angel of Pinto, Spain, Jonathan Hoover of Atlanta, GA, and Brian Hoover of Sycamore. He is the great uncle of Cassidy and Trebor Craps of Gilbert, and Sophia and Anna Hoover- Lolo of Pinto Spain. Nathan is the nephew of paternal aunt; Bonnie Reed of Salley, maternal aunt; Bobbie Rodgers of Saluda, and maternal uncle; George Walton of Neeses. He is the brother-in-law of Mary Bush and her husband Rev. Freddie Bush of Barnwell, Janetta Camper and her husband Rev. Herman of Camden, N.J., and Michael Cave and his wife Lorraine of Edgefield, and Arnold Cave of Barnwell.

Nathan was a star football athlete at Wagener-Salley High School graduating in 1975. He then graduated from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA. He was a State Trooper with the S. C. Highway Patrol, retiring after 32 years of service. Nathan served in Troop 7, Orangeburg District. He also worked in Lexington and Florence Counties.  Nathan loved singing.  He sang with the Hoover family Singers. He loved all sports, but he loved football and more football.

Viewing for Nathan will be Friday, May 8, 2020 from 10 to 4 in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A private service celebrating Nathan’s life will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 9, 2020 in the chapel of Dyches Funeral Home at 11372 Ellenton St., Barnwell, SC with the Rev. Freddie Bush ministering and David Deering speaking. Burial will follow in the Salley Oakview Cemetery.
