Ray Allen Johnson

Mr. Ray Allen Johnson, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Left to cherish Ray’s memories are his wife of 59 years, Cheryl Williamson Johnson, children: Teresa Johnson and Jason (Christy Day) Johnson, nephew loved like a son, David Rawls, grandchildren: Destiny (Isaiah) McKinney, Jace (Amari Canales) Johnson, and Dalton Johnson, great grandchildren: Ridley McKinney and Beau McKinney, siblings and in-laws: Barbara (Jim) Edwards, Billy (Pat) Johnson, Jamie (Rhonda) Johnson, Wanda Padgett, Tony (Karan) Johnson, Carolyn (Don) Charles, Gale (Tony) Kirkland, Elaine Johnson, Brodice (Cindy) Williamson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Ray was born at his family home on September 5, 1939, in Aiken County, to the late Marion Willard Johnson, Sr. and the late Lizzie Mae Steverson Johnson. He is also preceded in death by his siblings and in-laws: Jack Johnson, Marion Willard Johnson, Jr., Edward Wilson Johnson, Wayne Padgett, Christopher Poole, Winona (Frenchie) Fournier, and Barbara (Allen) Rawls.

Mr. Ray retired from AGY as a glass handler, having been a dedicated employee for 35 years. He also cut pulpwood for over 50 years. A faithful member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church, Ray loved his church and his church family. Mr. Ray’s favorite hobby was fishing. Among everything in life, his most treasured title was “Papa” which he was affectionally called by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and will be forever missed.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 3 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Rocky Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. John O’Cain will be officiating.
